The New Madrid earthquake had claimed over one million American lives and displaced more than 18 million in the central portion of the United States from Louisiana to Illinois. The four former Army Rangers, their partners, and several extended family members had survived the initial devastation in a pre-cold war storage facility built into a mountain they named the Haven. As the group went to bed one night exactly two months after the earthquake they had no knowledge of the new danger coming from the bottom of the Great Crevasse. The New Madrid earthquake had ruptured the continental crust and was beginning to fill the void with billions of tons of salt water. Within ninety days the cities of St. Louis, MO, and Memphis, TN, would be lying under three hundred feet of salt water creating the New Madrid Sea and a New Coastline in the middle of the United States of America.

Okay, once again I am not sure where to start.

The same issues from book one seem to be in book 2. It really, really needs a good proof reading (or more) I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

There is a huge difference between "wandering" and "wondering". Especially when you are "wondering around in the woods" vs "wandering around the woods" .

I thought the book was good, but like the first book it could have been better. So again I was torn between a three star rating (it;s Okay) and a four star rating (I like it), but decided to go with a four star rating, because of the author's take on what happens (long term) after the event.

Since I enjoyed the author's story line I went with a four star rating.

If there was a third book in this series, I would purchase it.

NEW MADRID A New Coastline edition by Terry Frost Danna Fisher Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I loved this story. I lived in St Louis for 10 years and was very much aware of the New.Madrid fault. I felt it on several occasions when it would remind us of its existence. There were lots of typos so bettwr editing is needed but overall I enjoyed the characters and the story.
This was an entertaining story, mixing science and fiction; however, where was the editor for this book? The grammar and spelling errors were distracting and, frankly, an embarrassment. How could the publishing house let this be produced in this condition? Besides the frequent incorrect use of homonyms, "where" was used when the verb "were" was clearly indicated. Good story, Mr. Frost. Really, really bad editing, publishing house.
I loved the storyline of this book and look forward to the next one. I would have given it 5 stars but it still needs some serious grammatical editing. It detracted me from fully enjoying the book. Dear author, please learn to use their and they're (they are) correctly. Also learn the difference between passed and past. Also learn about correct punctuation. You write a good story but basic grammatical errors can undo the best author.
It is important for the reader to have read the first book in the series in order to understand the characters' mind set. I enjoyed the thoughtful analysis of what plans would be needed to recover from the disaster. It is believable the amount of effort, work, and cooperation needed, and the willingness of people to help. I am waiting for the third book in the series to become available, and I am already wondering how the new disaster will develop.
Characters are choppy and hard to empathize with, they could be better they're just too chopped up. Too much technical detail added, when that effort could have been better spent filling out the characters. Spelling errors/ word errors. ( essence/ entrance, etc). Repeating and repeating of already stated facts. I enjoyed the story line though and what the characters could be. Come on, I know you can do this, the last book the characters were spot on, but the word errors were really distracting. Also, rough up the characters more. They are too goody, goody once they group up, keep it real. So close, keep up the good work and keep improving, I can't wait to read more. I'm sorry if this seems harsh, it's not meant to.
The storyline is awesome and I love the characters! This is an interesting series and I wonder what will happen next. No more deaths of our favorite main characters however, please? Too sad to take....

While I really like the storyline and characters and could read about all of them and of course the next disaster, the Yellowstone Caldera, (just a guess), I have to comment on the actual writing of the series.

The grammar is atrocious, the books keep changing tenses, sometimes even within the same sentence and this makes it difficult to follow and read. The only reason I have not thrown my hands in the air and quit reading is because the plot has me hooked. But the writing is on a junior high level. A really good editor would make a huge difference and make you, the writer, make the proper corrections. There are so many of these changes in tense, (past tense, present tense, future tense) along with weird changes in points of view, such as writing from the characters POV and then all of a sudden you write from YOUR LOG as a narrator and tell us what is going on instead of letting the characters tell the story. It is a bit confusing and abrupt and throws the reader off track, until the narrative returns to the character's POVs.

This is a great and interesting series that has me up all night with very interesting story with very likeable characters....

Just fix the grammar, POV, and narration and you will have a dynamite series

I hope there are many more sequels to this series. You have lots of fodder for more books, ie the Yellowstone caldera, the San Andreas fault, the Cascadia fault, many dormant but could go active volcanos, and tsunamis from earthquakes on the west coast from all the way down in Southern California to all the way North to Alaska.

Keep the sequels coming!
I have staggered through some appalling writing in this genre, in fact reading the first volume and purchasing the second. But I couldn't finish it. Trying to figure out who is saying what, trying to decipher "since" really means "sense", and FORGET your, you're; there, their, & they're. I can't just read and enjoy the story because I can't understand what the author is saying. By the way, it's Jack and Jill WERE (plural) going, not WAS (singular). The trucks WERE heading west, not WAS! My third grader writes better english than this author and I am Done! WHY do you put a comma in a sentence before a proper pronoun?! Whoever heard of such a thing! Jeremy was going to, Rome. David smiled at, Becky. The only characters I understood were Cannon and Radar, probably because they had no dialogue.
Okay, once again I am not sure where to start.

The same issues from book one seem to be in book 2. It really, really needs a good proof reading (or more) I would have enjoyed it a lot more.
